"I remember taking my mom to the Eye Center of PA a few years before she passed away. Little did I realize I would be going there myself years later!When my eye doctor diagnosed me with cataracts in both eyes, I did not hesitate to tell him I wanted to go to the Eye Center of Central PA. I remembered how wonderful everyone was to my mom and I can honestly say I was not disappointed with my care over the past 2 months!I highly recommend Dr. Spencer Onishi, along with Donnel Apuzzio, MSHS, PA-C and the staff at the Eye Center of Central PA! From my initial consultation to my 2 cataract surgeries, along with follow-up appointments, their level of care and professionalism was outstanding.Dr. Onishi was so kind and patient as well as highly skilled. He took time to explain every step of the procedure and answered all my questions. He even came to see me before both surgeries! I was so grateful for all his support and advice to help me recover from my surgeries. My vision is so much clearer and I can see without my glasses! I can honestly say, I was at ease throughout the entire procedure.Donnel Apuzzio, MSHS, PA-C was also so kind and caring as she examined me during my follow-up appointments the day after my surgeries. "At 70 getting new eyes through light adjustable lenses is nothing short of miraculous!! The process delivered from Dr. Hardsel and Dr. Bonner was awesome to say the least. I am free from corrective Len's of any power and have better that perfect vision. The process is tedious and takes time ! BUT sooooo worth the patience that is required to complete the treatment!! "This was my return visit after two weeks. Another great experience. Even though they were busy,I was checked in very quickly and was back in the eye exam room before my scheduled appointment time. The tech was very friendly. Dr. Jarrett was thorough and efficient. I was checked out quickly and sent over to the area to purchase eyeglasses. They looked up my insurance information so I knew what was covered. They were helpful and friendly. I purchased a pair of eye glasses. No concerns."
"I was in dire need of an eye appointment before the end of December 2025 and there was an opening when I called. They got me right in was able to order my bifocals.From speaking to someone on the phone to each one of the ladies that I came in contact with that day and the doctor, They were nothing but wonderful. Even the lady that helped me pick out my glasses right there on site was wonderful! If you want a place that you are not considered just a number but a person this is where you need to be. "I went to the Danville site for consultation. I went to the Allenwood site for cataract surgery. I went to the Lewisburg site for a follow up appointment. From the time I entered each of these locations, I was treated with respect and kindness. The process at each site was extremely organized. Everything was explained very clearly so I was able to understand. They took time to answer any questions I had. I will definitely go back when I have the next eye done."

"The best experience that I have had with eyecare. I asked my eye doctor to refer me to The Eye Center so I could have Dr. Hartzell to do my cataract surgery. Dr. Hartzell did my Mom's cataract surgery years and years ago, so I knew she had great results and that he is the best around. I met with Dr. Hartzell and he said that he could do both eyes, as one of mine was worse than the other. Everyone at the Eye Center answered all of my questions and encouraged me to call whenever I had any. I paid to upgrade my lenses to light adjustable lenses so I would not have to wear glasses, as my vision was bad and wore glasses for 52 years. Dr. Hartzell operated on one eye at a time and I was given UV glasses to wear when in sunlight and indoors. I followed all of the instructions the Eye Center gave me. I had questions after my 1st eye fogged from inflammation and was assured that it was normal and would be clear up by the next day, which it did. After both eyes were done it was time to see Dr. Jarrett to adjust my light adjustable lenses to my preferred vision. Dr. Jarrett set my vision with one eye great for distance and the other eye great to see to read up close. Since both eyes were set for my vision, I have not had to use readers, which I needed before with contacts. I go back to see Dr. Hartzell in a year. I am so happy with my experience with everyone at the Eye Center. I highly recommend Dr. Hartzell, Dr. Jarrett and the Eye Center for cataract surgery! Randy Gill"
"Excellent Physician Providing Excellent Results - Dr. Hartzell spent time with me during my consultation and answered all my questions relating to my upcoming cataract surgery. I have an aversion to things near my eyes and he assured me there would be no issues. When the surgeries came, he was correct. No issues. His facility and his associates are all very professional. I was very nervous and they put me at ease, even prior to the procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Hartzell and have already done so to several individuals in my sphere of influence."

"Easy to make an appointment. My glasses broke and I was due for another exam. I opted for the “virtual kind” at the office where you go through the data collection process with a tech who then submits all the data to the doc. Tech was super sweet and kind. Virtual doc was helpful and prescription was accurate. Purchased contact lenses at this location using insurance. Took my eyeglass prescription with me to purchased frames and lenses elsewhere. I am grateful for the services offered and the kindness and professionalism of the staff."
"Dr. Scott hartzell has done wonders with my eyes. I wore Coke bottles for glasses all of my life. I told him if he could just lighten my prescription I would be extremely happy. He worked on my eyes so well. I don't even have to wear glasses. "Highly recommend Dr Hartzell - Very happy I can see again out of my right eye he did yag laser on it. Dr Hartzel is the best in the state of PA . I highly recommend him. My son drove me there it took us a little over 3 hours to go there one way . "I just can't express how nice it is to go to an office where everybody is friendly. Everybody smiles. Everybody understands and explains things in a way I can understand. It's just a joy to go there. Everybody smiles. Everybody greets you. Everybody makes you laugh. I love how the office is always happy, smiling, and having fun. The girls down there at the surgery center, they treat you like a person. They explain thing really well. The continually ask which eye, and your date of birth, and I don't care if I have to give it 500 times, it keeps me safe! Everyone is so great! They're always checking on you, asking if you need anything, and if you're okay. And my vision, I couldn't be happier! I can see 500% better! It's a win-win!"

"Definitely worth it - I got a quick appt. I did what they told me to do. All went very well and in 1 day after surgery my vision cleared and was so good that I could get rid of my glasses before my other eye was done. I had severe cataract and astigmatism in a otherwise healthy eye. Can't hardly wait to get my other eye fixed. Thank you Dr. Hartzel and the wonderful staff that works there."

"I've been going to the Eye Center for years. Dr Bowen has been treating me for my dry eyes and doesn't just rush me though or give me a prescription that he doesn't feel comfortable with until he can get my eyes stabilized. It's nice to have a Dr that actually cares and listens to his patients concerns."
"I have dry eye syndrome. I have used a LOT of drops. At one point I was using Xiidra and Restasis and Serum tears and plugs all at the same time. I still had trouble . About a month ago Dr. Bowen said I was a candidate for the Umbelical patch. So I tried it. What a difference!! I am over a month out and my eye still feels good. We don't know how long it will last and it will need to be done again but what a difference. I still use the Xiidra and Serum tears but that is ok. Thank you Dr. Bowen!"
"I had cataract surgery which was performed by Dr. Hartzell. This was my final appointment to check the outcome of my procedure. This appointment was with Dr. Bonner. I would highly recommend The Eye Center. Very professional but also personable and caring. Dr. Bonner takes his time when he examines my eyes. I think he enjoys his work. My vision is improved to the point that I only need glasses for reading."

I opted for just the basic surgery & now have 20/25 vision.They even accommodated me in a polite and professional manner when I was late for one of my appointments. There is a very short wait time. Their optic Center replaced my lenses. They told me an hour and they were done in an hour. I don't know about their other Lewisburg office in downtown Lewisburg as I've never gone there. But the Mifflinburg office is also great."

"I recently went to the Muncy eye center for a eye exam and glasses. After my eye exam I went into the Optical to look at frames. Because of Covid only one person at a time is aloud in which I think is better because I had a sales clerk named Kathy. At first I thought she seemed very stressed out but I was wrong. She was very professional and explained all that needed answered. I ordered my new glasses got them but they hurt my bridge on my nose. I called Kathy said come in and she’ll re adjust them. She did but they still hurt my nose so she talked to her manager and called to let me know I could exchange my frames for a lighter pair. I went today and she helped me pick a lighter pair. I should get them in 7 days. I want to thank Kathy for going the extra mile for me. More people should be like her. I sure hope her boss reads this to see that people appreciate a sales person like her."

"Came here for my eye and contact lens exam and my 5 yo son’s first eye exam. Dr Bonner was fantastic and so were all of the staff. My son actually had fun and didn’t worry a bit. I’m one of “those” that hates anyone messing around near my eyes and he was so great, I really wasn’t uncomfortable. Had to bring my glasses back, after my 2 yo tried to clean them for me and bent them into the strangest shape. The technician had no problem fixing what I was sure was unfixable. It’s been 2 months and they’re still holding strong. Only thing that stinks about this location is there minimal hours."
"I recently had cataract surgery done by Dr. Hartzell . I worried about the procedure and how it would affect my eye sight. Turned out Dr. Hartzell did an excellent job and now I only need glasses to read. I no longer have to wear my Rx. glasses after so many years. The staff that he has at both Allenwood and Williamsport are by far the nicest medical staff I ever had, in particular Lydia. My wife and I both had surgery and Lydia made everything so easy for us. A friend had recommended this eye center so we called and made an appointment and met with Dr. Hartzell. He explained what was going on with my eyes and we began preparations for my surgery. The entire staff was very helpful through the whole process and made things go smoothly. Both surgeries went very well and my sight had improved so much just after 24 hours and kept getting better! Thank you to the great staff for being so helpful and special thanks to Dr. Hartzell for removing my clouded vision and bringing back the wonderful colors and sight back into my life! "When I arrived at the Eye Center in Lewisburg, I received a thorough exam and then met with Dr. Hartzell. At that time, I had uncorrected vision of 20/400 (that's legally blind) with cataracts that further diminished my vision. Due to three prior retina tears, Dr. Hartzell outlined what he thought would be the safest plan for me. I met with several technicians after that who went over in detail exactly every step in a three month program - and I received a book with information and phone numbers and a precise schedule. Through the measurements, left and right eye surgeries and weekly follow up appointments, I have been met with helpful and courteous people who exhibited the highest level of caring and professionalism. As I type this review, I don't know where my glasses are - my last test had my uncorrected vision at 20/15. I can look at a flower and see individual petals and vivid colors. I can look at my dog and see details in his face I've never seen before. How important is your vision? At the Eye Center, they are giving people sight - it's not like rating a coffee shop. These few paragraphs cannot express how grateful I am."
"When I came to the Eye Center of Central PA in 2016, it was a scary situation. I am a graphic artist by trade, so I need my eyes to earn a living. Both of my eyes were failing due to very aggressive cataracts... My vision turned so poor, so quickly that I could no longer drive, read a magazine or use a computer! Even something as simple as watching TV had become nearly impossible. My entire world was a blur, like looking through Saran Wrap. Dr. Hartzell and his entire staff were very assuring, comforting and confident their procedures would help me. Every step of the way they were efficient, organized and completely professional. Their cheerful demeanor before and during my surgeries, and at every follow-up appointment since, has proven I made the right choice for my eye care.The results? For the first time in 50 years, I no longer need glasses! Waking up each day with nearly perfect vision (20/25) is a true blessing in every way. "When I arrived at the Eye Center in Lewisburg, I received a thorough exam and then met with Dr. Hartzell. At that time, I had uncorrected vision of 20/400 (that's legally blind) with cataracts that further diminished my vision. Due to three prior retina tears, Dr. Hartzell outlined what he thought would be the safest plan for me. I met with several technicians after that who went over in detail exactly every step in a three month program - and I received a book with information and phone numbers and a precise schedule. Through the measurements, left and right eye surgeries and weekly follow up appointments, I have been met with helpful and courteous people who exhibited the highest level of caring and professionalism.As I type this review, I don't know where my glasses are - my last test had my uncorrected vision at 20/15. I can look at a flower and see individual petals and vivid colors. I can look at my dog and see details in his face I've never seen before. How important is your vision? At the Eye Center, they are giving people sight - it's not like rating a coffee shop.These few paragraphs cannot express how grateful I am."

Both of my eyes were failing due to very aggressive cataracts... My vision turned so poor, so quickly that I could no longer drive, read a magazine or use a computer!
