Board-certified ophthalmologist David Lightman has been providing eye health services locally since 1986 when he founded his first practice in the Susquehanna Valley. Beyond being an integral part of our surgical team, Dr. Lightman often travels internationally to train ophthalmology residents in retinal surgery and offers eye care in underdeveloped countries. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees at Princeton University and Tulane Medical School before moving on to his ophthalmology residency in Boston, MA at Tufts New England Medical Center. After his residency, Dr. Lightman completed fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.
The Eye Center staff are friendly, organized, and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and comfortable. I was seen for a torn retina that has healed nicely thanks to Dr. Lightman and crew. I’m grateful for the surgery and follow ups.

Excellent experience! My appointment was made in less than a week. The personnel are friendly and efficient. I had a very thorough evaluation, and extensive testing. Dr. Lightman was very personable, and explained everything completely. I am comfortable that I am in good hands.
Dr. Lightman and Dr Onishi are very skilled physicians. Had cataracts removed from both eyes by Onishi. Floaters removed from left eye by Lightman, having them removed from right eye soon. I have all the confidence in the world in these doctors.Kind and courteous at every visit.
